About the church

There was action started in the spring of 1963 to organize a Ukrainian school for children and to start a new parish on the mountain. In October 1963 church on mountain got the name Holy Resurrection and was assigned as the first Ukrainian Catholic Church on the mountain. The church was built by parishioners in 1964. Rev. Morris Bosey was assigned to be the first pastor of the Holy Resurrection Ukrainian Catholic Church and the first Sunday Mass on the Mountain was offered on February 2, 1964, in the chapel of St. St. Margaret Mary’s School.

The Parish Committee immediately began the work of finding a suitable location for a church site. In April 1966 the site for church was found and bought. A few months later all parishioners, building committee, Paul Sianchuk, Joe Mendiuk and Father Morris Bosey started building the church. On 29th of October 1967 bishop blessed of the Corner Stone and after the church and hall.

Holy Resurrection Church was blessed on May 12, 1968.
